Description

The Fitting option allows you to adjust the size of a text frame or picture frame based on the content within that specific frame.

Fitting gives you a result similar to the automatic sizing within InDesign achieved by double-clicking on a frame – but without the need for you to do anything.

Controlling the size of objects with EasyCatalog’s Fitting options give you very powerful tools to dynamically resize objects and to adjust your layout to cater for varying amounts of text and different shaped images. Fitting options may also be applied to different elements within a group structure, allowing you to resize a group based on different components within a group.

Default state. The frame will remain as is.

Frame To Content

For a single line of text, both the width and height of the frame will be resized till the content fits. For multi-line text and image frames the height of the frame will be resized to the height of the content, subject to available space if the frame is nested within other frames.

Content To Frame

Content will be resized till it fits within the frame.

Frame Depth To Content Depth

The height of the frame will be resized to the height of the content, subject to available space if the frame is nested within other frames.

Grow and Flow

The height of a text frame will expand to the bottom margin. The library element will be inserted again on the following page and text frames will be automatically linked together (allowing content to flow across pages).

Frame To Field Dimensions

The height of a frame will be set based on the content of a separate field.

Frame to Content Depth and Width

Both the width and height of the frame will be resized till the content fits.
